ScrapRight offers discount to companies that collect CRVs
In response to the closure of nearly 300 rePlanet sites throughout California that handled California Redemption Value (CRV) containers, including aluminum cans (UBCs) and polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and glass bottles, California has enacted emergency legislation in the form of Assembly Bill 54 (AB 54) designed to assist recyclers in filling the void created by these closures. Although this legislation provides $5 million to help address the issues that have arisen in California’s CRV system, it does not help recycling center operators efficiently run their day-to-day operations, according to ScrapRight, a Waynesboro, Pennsylvania-based company that provides software to the recycling industry.
The company says it is offering its iScrapRight software package at a low rate to assist recyclers in operating their CRV businesses. The technology helps CRV collection sites manage their ticketing, pricing and printing of receipts. Additionally, it generates reports, such as daily purchase summaries, cutoffs and cashier reconciliation reports, making dealing with the state or processors easier and saving business owners from having to perform hours of manual calculations, ScrapRight says.
A 14-day free trial is available when the app is downloaded from the Apple App Store to an iPad, or the download can be initiated from www.iScrapRight.com. Once the trial is over, a CRV business can subscribe for $79.99 per month. A discounted initial signup fee of $1,499 includes an iPad mini with a rugged protective case, a choice of a Bluetooth portable printer or desktop printer for receipts, a case of paper and personalized online training to ensure successful implementation, according to the company. The first month's subscription also is included in this upfront investment.
Recycling companies that have multiple locations can inquire with the ScrapRight management team for custom plans and monthly pricing as multilocation discounts are offered. For recyclers who purchase other materials in addition to CRVs, such as nonferrous scrap metals, the app also ensures full 50-state compliance through its built-in proprietary compliance engine, the company says. Images of materials, drivers’ license scanning, signatures and more are handled by the software. Compliance plans start at $149 per month, according to ScrapRight.
More information on pricing and features for various plans are available at www.iscrapright.com and at www.scrapright.com.
